The Pride Alumni Network at Florida State University (FSU) Welcomes You!

Our Mission

The mission of the Pride Alumni Network (PAN) at FSU is to cultivate a network of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ+) and allied alumni to sustain meaningful relationships on behalf of FSU. Membership is open to any alumnus, associate or affiliate of the university with an earnest and steadfast commitment to the aims and goals of LGBTQ+ alumni.

Our Why

In 2019, Donald Post was asked to help build something that didn't yet exist at FSU: a home for LGBTQ+ and allied Seminoles to stay connected to each other and to FSU for life. Donald has described the goal simply: "We wanted to create a space where every student could show up exactly as they are: accepted, supported, and safe to be their full, authentic self."

That's still why we're here. Every LGBTQ+ Seminole deserves the courage to walk through the door. Our network exists so no student overthinks that decision alone.

What that looks like, every day:

  • We build community. We create a vibrant, inclusive network where LGBTQ+ and allied Seminoles can connect, belong, and build lifelong relationships.

  • We support students. We advocate for students and provide meaningful support, mentorship, resources, and opportunities for success, including book stipends that help cover textbooks and course materials.

  • We connect generations. We strengthen connections among LGBTQ+ alumni, students, faculty, staff, and allies across generations and communities.

  • We create opportunities. We foster professional networking, career development, volunteerism, philanthropy, and meaningful engagement with FSU.

  • We preserve our history. We honor and share the stories and experiences of LGBTQ+ Seminoles while helping shape a more inclusive future at FSU.
